(Just incase anyone missed the interview on TV, here's a full transcript of the conversation during the interview)
(RK = Robert Kazinsky, PS = Phillip Schofield, RL = Ruth Langsford, Sharon = Sharon Marshall
PS: Difficult to do that when it's your mate? (Phil is referring to a scene they just saw of Sean pushing Deano's head down a toilet)
RK: Yeah it is, I miss Matt terribly, because of course he's off now doing Strictly (Come Dancing) It's not pleasant doing, especially when your doing, I get on really well with Matt, very well. I consider him one of my best mates there. We go to the gym together and we have a laugh together and then you have to spend all day being horrible to each other.
RL: Shoving his head down a toilet? You don't do that to a friend, bet he didn't like having his hair messed up!
RK: No you don't. He was actually ok with it. More ok than I'd be!
PS: He's going to do dancing? Can he dance? (referring to Matt Di Angelo)
RK: Matt's a brilliant dancer. Matt should walk it, with any luck. He's a superb dancer, he was professionally trained. He can Tap Dance, he can do it all. Not only that, but when he will really shine is when they just talk to him. He's such a lovely, sweet, funny guy. He'll just be the star of that show.
RL: You've also got Chelsea, you've been chopping her hair off, is she a mate as well?
RK: This is the odd thing about doing a show like this. Your friends off set, but then you go through periods when your really busy together and you spend 12 hours a day doing horrible, horrible things to each other and being really nasty here, it does occasionally make things rather awkward. You don't get time to be, you know Rob and Tiana and Rob and Matt.
RL: They must think, is their really a nasty streak in him?
RK: When I first arrived, I was thrown in really heavy, you know with all the hanging Al up and all the meeting my family again. It was really uncomfortable working with some of the actors there because immediatly Sean's reaction was everyone hated him and he was causing a lot of trouble. I'm going into work everyday, a place I've just started, terribly nervous and I'm just doing scenes all day long with people being horrible to me! It was only when I had a break I got to know people.
RL: Did that continue when you were out and about? Old ladies coming up and telling you off for being naughty?
RK: I get a very mixed reaction. I've had people take swings at me.
PS: Your joking? What thinking that it's real?
RK: A couple of people thought it was real (laughs) Mainly it's just a lot of juvenile grown men out there that think, he's on tele, let's take on the bad boy, let's take a swing at him. I've had a couple of women hit me with umbrella's.
RL: They shouldn't do that, cos I read when you were at drama school, didn't you win the stage fighting prize?
PS: More than that! The British Academy of Dramatic Combat! You have hitherto unmatched levels!
RK: Yeah, I think they have been matched now, but I was at the time. Let me explain what the BACD is. When it comes to working on TV and Film, it's equity stunt registered, cos all TV companies are equity based which is the union for actors and professionals in this industry. When working on stage and all through drama schools, there's the thing called the British Academy of Dramatic Combat, the BADC and what they do is they teach you how to fall, hit, how to kick someone in the gentleman's area without hurting. You learn to fight with different weapons, I mean I can fight with rapiers, epie's, swords.
RL: That's handy isn't it?
RK: It is. I tell you what, in some of the darker areas of London I can just whip out my sword!
PS: Does this mean your trained in fighting, but not hitting anyone?
RK: It does. I tell you what, if I have a proper punch up they are in no danger. That's the thing, everyone thinks your hard.
RL: Doesn't the other person have to know how to fight back without hitting you? You can't do it on your own?
RK: I did see a fantastic fight once, where someone did have a fight with themselves, cos you can do it, because on theatre, in TV even and Film you do a swing and people just add the (claps his hand to demonstrate sound of a blow) afterwards, but with theatre, you have to add it by punching yourself (Rob hits his chest to make a punch sound)
RL: I know a lady, she doesn't want to fight you, but she does probably want to touch you, so shall we get her in because it's her birthday today, let's get Sharon!
(Sharon and Rob hug on the sofa, with Sharon on top of Rob at one point!)
We then see a montage of clips of Sharon talking about how much she loves Sean/Rob on past shows. Sharon jokes she rang EastEnders and asked of she could have Rob.
PS: We know now that the character, your character that you said he's going to do something that is so appalling, as a character he's actually appalled you?
RK: Yeah. Everyday I get a script where he's being horrible to somebody and he's being nasty and he usually does things which, I suppose are in the darker part of all of us. Kinda don't mind doing, you can be rude to someone, you can have a fight with someone and occasionally you lose your temper and threaten someone, but when something comes along that's disturbing as what I read. It's not a major, major thing, but it really upset me. There's this wonderful thing, where he's trying to find Deano, when Deano does his runner, he will go to any lengths, he's really been pushed to go to any lengths, he's in that kinda survival mode and he, he has this altercation with Dawn and her baby and it was just one of this things that really, from a personal point of view upset me to read. It really indicates how far he's been pushed and how on the edge he is.
PS: Your gonna go off him (talking to Sharon)
Sharon: I'll get over it, it's fine. There's a reason. Yeah he's damaged.
PS: You got a present for her? (talking about Sharon)
RK: This is from me, it's a little present for you (hands his wrapped gift to Sharon)
Sharon: Aww, you can come on again!
PS: Thank you for coming in.
RK: A pleasure, thanks for having me.
